Description

A dark brown wooden plaque of the 1974 Prajadhipoks Golf Tournament, on the front, is an enamel of Sakdidej crest which further divides into three panels: on the upper right side is the Phra kiao (coronet) on pink background, while on the upper left side are Chakra (disc) and Trishula (trident) on yellow background. On the lower half panel is the then-Prince Prajadhipok’s arm: three arrows on green background, representing Wednesday, his birthday. Below the crest is a gold ribbon made of steel plate with a black edge. At the centre of the plaque is an engraving of “Prajadhipok Golf Tournament 1974”. The plaque also comes with folded leg holder.

Through the “Prajadhipok’s Fund”, Queen Rambhai Barni graciously donated her money to aid several hospitals and educational institutions. As the name suggested that the fund came from the King’s inheritance, officials offered to organise the first charity golf tournament for the Prajadhipok’s Fund in 1971 once they learnt of it. The tournament was allowed to use the Sakdidej crest as its logo. The winners were given their trophies, too, by the Queen herself.
